Dear colleagues,

Please join us for our next ACOG town hall, titled The Trauma of Racism in Maternal Health and Health Care, sponsored by District IX Section 1, on Monday, September 14, from 6 to 7 p.m. PT.

Our guest speaker is Nicole Christian-Brathwaite, MD, a board-certified adult, child, and adolescent psychiatrist who specializes in perinatal mental health.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the psychological and physical impact of racism on women of color 
  • Identify why and how racism causes trauma in communities of color
  • Identify systemic and structural racism that leads to disparities in maternal mental health outcomes
  • Discuss barriers to care for women of color
  • Understand the steps required to become an anti-racist organization
