PAC/LAC's Current Programs
First 5 LA Baby Friendly Hospital Project Consultant - The First 5 LA Baby-Friendly Hospital Project provides funding to hospitals seeking to be recognized as Baby Friendly Hospitals. Targeting Los Angeles hospitals with the lowest exclusive breastfeeding rates, the project seeks to enhance and support a continuum of care to improve initiation and duration of breastfeeding by improving breastfeeding policies and procedures in birthing hospitals.
MCAH Action Consultant - This project initiated in 2000 when the California Coalition of Local Maternal Child Health Directors voted to pull away from California DHS and form their own organization that would give them the opportunity to pursue public policy endeavors. The project has grown over the years with PAC/LAC now coordinating all communication, education and annual meetings between California DHS and the county MCAH Directors.
